ALLTRACKS combines expert ski coaching in a fun and supportive environment, limiting ski coaching to 6 students per coach. Not all ski instructor training is the same, and we’re confident the ALLTRACKS approach offers the best way to improve while having a great time in the mountains – whether you’re focused on straight forward ski instructor training or looking for intensive ski improvement courses.

Join us for elite ski instructor training

Established back in 2007, ALLTRACKS now offer the widest range of ski instructor courses varying in length from 3 – 22 weeks, allowing you to qualify to Level 1, Level 2 and even Level 3 instructor. If you’ve been dreaming about training to be a ski instructor, this is your time to dive in.

A seriously talented team of coaches, led by one of the greatest ski instructors of his generation: Guy Hetherington. With passion, personality and top qualifications, each of our coaches guarantees you a good time. Virtually all of our coaches are examiners themselves so know exactly what you need for success.

A considered coaching plan for each course is informed by the ALLTRACKS Training Formula. This combines cutting edge methods to give you the best balance of technical improvement, analysis, and on snow exploration, and is one of the reasons our ski instructor training programmes deliver consistantly strong results.

Small Ski Coaching Groups of 6 MAX ensures that the groups move efficiently through the mountains and that you benefit from plenty of personal attention and constructive feedback. This makes a huge difference in the rate of improvement whilst still enjoying the camaraderie of a group.

Intensive or Extensive Ski Improvement Courses – Your Choice

We can take your skiing to the next level in a matter of weeks or work with you over a whole season to hone your technique and master the mountain. You’ll return home with instructor qualifications and seriously sharp skills across the entire mountain.

So choose the course that works for you. Start with the outcome you’re looking for and then look at the time you can spare or the depth of adventure you have in mind.

Unsure which ski instructor course is best for you? We’re here to help.

If you’re mainly looking to elevate your own technique, our ski improvement courses offer focused progression for intermediate to expert skiers – while our longer programmes are perfect for those committed to ski instructor training as a full-time career.

Ski Whistler – big snow, epic terrain

There’s a reason we choose to base ourselves in Whistler. One of the most iconic ski resorts in the world, it comes with more than 8000 acres of varied terrain, average annual snowfall of almost 40 feet and a super long winter season.

Abundant off-piste opportunities mean we spend a lot of course time mastering powder away from the groomed pistes – giving you a much more varied experience. We also include the Canadian Avalanche Association (CAA) avalanche safety training (AST) into the majority of our programmes, ensuring you establish a genuine respect for the mountains.

Finally, we work to make your whole experience – on and off the slopes – be the best it can be. ALLTRACKS sets you up with a home base at one of the world’s top ski destinations, an introduction to the resort and regular socials to help you establish your place within our very friendly community.

As locals, we know the ropes and our Whistler team means there’s always a course director on hand to help you, answer any questions and ensure your stay runs smoothly so that you can have a great time.  It’s the ideal environment for both ski instructor courses and all-round ski improvement training.

Your Ski Instructor Training Pathway

Whether you’re starting from a strong intermediate zone or already skiing at an advanced level, we’ve built a clear pathway to help you progress through your qualifications. Our ski instructor courses gradually develop your technical skills, teaching ability and all-mountain confidence so you can move forward at the right pace.

Level 1 – Your Foundation
Your journey usually begins with Level 1 ski instructor training, where you’ll focus on fundamental technique and entry level teaching skills. Most skiers complete this qualification within the first few weeks of training.

Level 2 – All-Mountain Teaching & Performance
If you’re committed to training to be a ski instructor beyond the basics, Level 2 prepares you for teaching across the whole resort. This stage builds stronger carving, bumps, freeride and variable-terrain performance while sharpening your teaching approach.

Level 3 – Advanced Professional Training
For those aiming to make instructing a long-term career, our extended programmes and mentorship give you the depth needed to reach Level 3. You’ll refine high-end technical skills, gain leadership experience and, as with all our courses, train with some of the top coaches in the resort.

Whatever your goal, we’ll guide you through the route that suits your skiing, ambitions and season length: whether that’s a career break, gap year, or a long-term path into professional snowsports.

  • Individual Attention

You’ll be training in groups of no more than six – so you get maximum focus and value.
  • Unique Training Formula

Our renowned tried and tested approach transforms your skiing with great results every time.
  • Top Instructors

You’ll be taught by the best coaching team in Canada who train weekly to keep their edge and are at the forefront of our sport.
  • 24/7 Support

As the only international ski company with a permanent presence in Whistler, there’s always someone on hand.

What Happens After Your Ski Instructor Course?

Although for many guests, completing your ski instructor course is a way to revolutionise your skiing skills during a break from work or education, some some it is just the start of the journey. Some ALLTRACKS graduates go on to teach in Canada, Europe, Japan and beyond, while others simply return home as far stronger, more confident skiers with elite ski improvement courses under their belt.

Pathway to Teaching Jobs
Although most ski instructor courses don’t automatically include employment, we provide guidance, references and advice to help you take your first steps into the industry. Many ski schools value the strong technical standard and professionalism that ALLTRACKS graduates are known for.

Guaranteed Job Opportunities via Internships
If your goal is to begin training to be a ski instructor and step straight into work, our internship programmes are designed for you. These specialist courses offer the chance to gain your qualification and begin instructing in the same season, with job offers available to successful candidates who pass their exams and meet performance expectations.

Long-Term Career Support
Whether you want to continue through Level 2 and Level 3, work back-to-back seasons around the world, or simply advance your technical skiing through further ski improvement courses, we’ll help you plan the next stage. Some of our alumni return for more coaching as they progress through higher levels.

Your ski instructor training doesn’t end with your certificate: it’s the doorway to a whole new lifestyle and greater skiing ability across the whole mountain.

FAQS: Ski Instructor Courses

What level do I need to start ski instructor training?

Most of our ski instructor courses are suitable for strong intermediate skiers and above. If you’re unsure, we can help you find the right programme for your goals, from ski improvement courses to full-season ski instructor training.

How long does training to be a ski instructor take?

It depends on the qualification level you’re aiming for. Many people achieve Level 1 in just a few weeks, while Level 2 and 3 require longer-term training. Our 3–22 week programmes cover everything from fundamentals to advanced teaching and technical skiing.

What’s the difference between ski improvement courses and ski instructor courses?

Ski improvement courses focus on your personal technique and all-mountain skills. Ski instructor courses include the same technical coaching and add in preparation for examinations, teaching modules and professional standards.
