After years of formal education in the classroom, who has not dreamed of the freedom and excitement of a gap year in the mountains?

If you’re a skier or a snowboarder, no doubt you will have considered spending a ski season out in the mountains and a year out is the perfect time to do it – by joining one of our gap year ski courses. By planning your year out and doing something that is constructive, you’re sure to have a year to remember.

If you want your gap year to be in the mountains, ALLTRACKS have a range of options. You can train to become a ski instructor and then work using your qualification, hone your all mountain skills, learn about avalanche safety and backcountry travel or take your freestyle skiing to the next level – whatever your goals, you’ll do it at some of the best resorts available – either Canada’s premier resort; Whistler Blackcomb, Verbier, Switzerland or Val d’Isere, France.

We offer a wide range of different courses. The most popular ones for gap year students are our extended ski instructor courses in Whistler, closely followed by our off piste camps or the ski instructor internship if you want to work as an instructor too.

Master the mountain and become a great, graceful skier! A skill that will stay with you for life. All skiers can appreciate the ability to ski well across a range of terrain in all snow conditions. That is the aim of ALLTRACKS courses.

Recognised Qualifications

Qualify as a snowboard or ski instructor. By earning recognised Ski Instructor Alliance qualifications on our courses you’ll gain the satisfaction of completing a rigorous assessment. Furthermore, it will demonstrate that you’re able to work hard to acheive a goal.

Work as an Instructor

Many or our gap year students go on and spend part of their year out working as an instructor. Not only will you get to earn $$$ while you ski, it is great to put into practice all the new skiing and instructing skills you learn on the course. What’s more, it gives you the ability to live and work in a new environment.

Improve other life skills

By undergoing instructor training, you will improve your communication skills and learn to teach people in an adaptable and engaging way. These skills are critical for virtually all management jobs and will stand you in good stead for your future.

Please note that all our training is conducted in English though.

Learn about Avalanche safety

As well as gaining your instructor qualifications and improving your technique, you’ll also learn about avalanche and mountain safety on the vast majority of our courses. We understand that as people become better skiers, in the future you may want to venture beyond the resort. It is important that you are educated in avalanche safety before doing so.
