If you’re looking to invest in a professional ski course, you’ve probably spent hours (if not days) searching the internet looking at all the different options available to you. If you’re organised, you might even have a spreadsheet, where you’ve ordered all the suitable courses and what each one can offer you.
But how can you know for sure that you’ve chosen the perfect ski course for you? There are certainly a few key elements you’ll want to look into.
The type of course
The first thing you’ll want to think about, is the type of course you’ll be taking.
What do you want to get from the course?
What do you want to take away from it?
Here at Alltracks for example, we have plenty of different types of courses. From instructor training courses, to specialist skill improvement courses (like off-piste skiing) – you’ll want to make sure you’ve picked the right type of course.
If you have no interest in becoming an instructor, but you want to focus on improving your skills and taking your skiing to the next level – then our Freestyle Ski Course, Off Piste Ski Course or our Bespoke Ski Course would be well suited to you. If you want to use the course as an opportunity to hugely improve your skiing but also gain qualifications, or become an instructor, our Ski Instructor Courses would be a great use of your time and a great way to learn those skills.
The length of course
The next thing you’ll want to look into, is the length of the course you’re taking. How much time can you put aside for your course?
Some people may have only weeks, and want an intensive course. Others might want a longer course spread over several months. Different courses will have different time frames, so you’ll want to bear this in mind when looking for the perfect course for you. For example, if you’re looking for a longer course, our Career Break Ski Course, or our Gap year Ski Course could both be fantastic options to look into.
The location of the course
There are lots of locations to take skiing courses around the world, and the location of the course will be a big part of how much you enjoy it. After all, you’ll be living and staying in which ever ski resort you choose, so you want to be sure you choose a good one.
Our courses at Alltracks Academy are based in Whistler – one of the leading ski resorts in the world. Whistler is the epicentre of modern skiing, it’s the forefront of teaching, and learning. Whistler is so varied, with amazing pistes for beginners, intermediates and experts that it has something for everyone to enjoy. It’s also one of the liveliest ski resorts too, with plenty of restaurants, bars, activities and shopping to enjoy when you’re not on the slopes.
Here are just a few statistics about Whistler to bear in mind:
- 38.5 feet of snow
- 8100 acres of terrain
- 200+ runs
- 37 Lifts
- 5 Parks & Pipes
- 11 Km longest run
When you’re looking for your course, try and find key statistics on the resorts and surrounding towns, so you know exactly where you’ll be spending your time.
